“Congratulations, you have been promoted.”
I was very happy. Yet again, I was promoted without asking for it. I always believed in good work and the recognition which comes after that.
But there was a catch which I always missed. The catch was that others were getting promoted years before me. It was a late realization, and when I sat thinking about it deeply, I realized all my life I had been promoted only after everyone else who was eligible was promoted or, most shockingly, the ones who were not eligible but made more noise. The pattern was consistent.
And that's when it dawned upon me.
“The crying baby gets the milk.”
“The squeaky wheel gets the grease.”
So it meant all I got was leftovers, and I was proud of it?!
I then looked around to see if that's holding good elsewhere too.
Yes.
Chances are that a person who asks for good work/features/team-change is going to get it more than the one who doesn’t.
The universe, in this case, is mostly very consistent.
There is research saying that most people don't just get lucky. They are actually getting what they seek.
For example, for most of my life, I have waited for an idea to magically dawn upon me so that I can create a patent.
Only later I realized it does not work that way. Those who want an idea read, research, collaborate, and eventually solve an issue which becomes a patent. It's not luck. It's hard work.
It's like you don't notice anything special on the road every day, but once you start looking for a red car, you tend to see it everywhere.
And then there are these people who are excited about everything in life. They accept gifts graciously, thank profusely. If someone prepares food for them and they like it, they express it so much that the person is now ever ready to prepare more for them. They prepare everything they like. They get invited more.
And all of this boils down to another thing which I did not believe till now, but now I do.
Manifestation
You want something desperately, but the universe does not find a way to give you that. You do.
You start to see more opportunities, more ways to get that thing, and eventually thank the Universe.
What you seek… is seeking you.
